The images above are just some of the few pictures I used to inspire me on silhouette. I found a book about traditional Russian peasant wear in the library, if only I remembered what it was called now because it was really cool - especially the coloured pictures.
When starting to flesh out my concept I organised my desk (picture on the left) to see what I was working with. I had my fabrics out, my inspiration pictures and my Russian dolls around me in order to focus on the task at hand.
From adding in the concept of giant zips and openings and attachments I was able to come up with three concepts (picture on the right).
Initial zip placement concepts:
1. Fully Detachable
2. Revealing / Peeling
3. Revealing whilst constructing a garment
